De kwaliteit en de doeltreffendheid van de HerbalGem producten worden verzekerd dankzij een zorgvuldige selectie van de gebruikte planten, een rigoureuze controle van alle fasen van het bereidingsproces en onze meer dan 20 jaar lange ervaring binnen de gemmotherapie.

Meticulous selections of plants
HerbalGem has always aimed to provide the most natural products possible, made from the highest quality ingredients, and sourced close to their natural state. We solely use fresh buds and young shoots grown in the wild or in organic cultures far from possible sources of pollution. Most of the buds come from the Ardenne forests, in the South of Belgium where our laboratory is based.

The plants are harvested by our own staff and by selected harvesters exactly at the right time for each species. Starting in February we have a dedicated team to carefully monitor the development of the trees and shrubs in our designated sites. Buds are gathered when they start to swell but before they open; young shoots just after the buds have opened; catkins when they start to flower; the bark of young trees and roots when the sap is rising. The sap itself is tapped before the leaves appear.

Strict controls at each state of preparation
The buds and embryonic plant tissues are stablelized at the time of harvesting in order to capture all the plant's minerals, vitamins, natural hormones and nucleic acids. They are soaked in a mixture of glycerin, alcohol and water. Glycerin is selected as an excipient as it allows for better extraction of the embryonic ingredients. We only use fresh buds and shoots, a critical element for ensuring the efficacy of the products.

After three weeks of maceration, the mother macerate is pressed and filtered. All our gemmotherapy extracts are concentrated, meaning that they are not further diluted like the D1 extracts.

All the products are rigorously tested for quality and purity at the different stages of fabrication and are all prepared in our laboratory which is equipped in accordance with HACCP regulations.

Our experience in Gemmotherapy
We have over 20 years of experience in producing high quality gemmotherapy remedies. We have developed proprietary techniques and processes to retain the full set of bud properties in our extracts. We also invest in a substantial Gemmotherapy research programme with The University of Liège and other independent accredited research laboratories in order to continue developing new formulas.
